Epoxy encapsulants - custom formulations
An encapsulant, also know as a potting compound or casting resin, is a liquid resin system comprised of either one or two components that is poured over electrical and electronic components. It can either be in an enclosure such as a plastic shell or case or it is poured into a mold holding the components where the cured material acts as the shell. These encapsulating resins are designed to electrically insulate and environmentally protect the components from moisture, chemicals, mechanical/thermal shock and vibration. This protection allows these electronics to be used in many more applications ensuring reliable, long-term performance.
Resinlab specializes in providing custom resin systems to meet the exact requirement for your potting application but we also have a large series of standard products. We offer a complete line of two component epoxy encapsulants as well as some single component epoxies and two component urethanes. We have some products that are RoHS compliant and several are UL-recognized flame retardant encapsulants. They are designed to provide security to protect proprietary designs, tamper-proofing, thermal management, and electrical insulation to prevent arcing and short circuiting between the electrical/electronic components in an assembly. We offer materials varying in durometer from very hard (Shore-D 90) to gel like (Shore-A 50) potting compounds in varying speeds of cure and viscosities to meet the needs of the processing parameters and required performance.
