Current Events

July 2008

The European Union’s decision on exemption of decabromodiphenyl ether (Deca-BDE) from the Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) directive (October, 2005) has been annulled. Deca-BDE has been used as a flame retardant in many electrical and electronics parts.

Resinlab has reformulated 2 existing products (EP 1190 & EP 1240 RC) omitting the usage of Deca-BDE. As of July 1, 2008, EP 1190 & EP 1240 RC are no longer RoHS compliant.

Resinlab now introduces EP 1390 & EP 1340 as RoHS compliant flame retardant adhesives with a UL standard 94 vertical burn rating of V-0 at 3mm thickness. EP 1390 & EP 1340 have the same physical characteristics as EP 1190 & EP 1240 RC, respectively.
